I recall similar arguments being made against Reagan’s opening to the USSR under Gorbachev. Reagan, of course, was right then, as Trump is now. In both instances, dangerous and seemingly solid communist regimes were broke and headed toward collapse due to U.S. pressure. Reagan offered an illusory way out for a regime that was doomed, and Trump is now doing much of the same. Pulling North Korea’s nuclear fangs in return for minor concessions is the equivalent of giving a dying desperado a drink of water and kind words as you take his guns away and get ready to send for the undertaker.
He is expressing the same caution that President Trump expresses. Anyone should be cautious. Reagan proceeded along the same lines and said “Trust but verify”, and he was vilified by the Deep State Republicans at the time. They bellowed this util the Wall came down.
If President Trump can get NK to retire it’s nuke and missle program, who cares how they get there... My Lord, how these pundits spin this stuff!!!
