China will clone it.
I understand that IBM owns a huge fraction of the patents for blockchain technology (BitCoin). They aren’t going anywhere but up for quite a while.

Wow. My recollection is that a the power plant of a nuclear submarine puts out approximately 40MW. Sheesh - this gadget sucks up a lot of juice!
What kind of problems can be solved with a machine this fast?
Nuclear explosion modeling, weather modeling, gene sequencing.
Keep in mind there are/will be probably hundreds of users on this machine at the same time. That means that it is working on hundreds of different problems at the same time. They probably aren't quite as complicated as what I listed, but it all helps.
Thanks! Would you trust using a nuclear weapon that was modeled by a computer without testing the design in the real world?
Given that, I would say that enough explosions have been monitored, and measurements taken, that the models are probably quite accurate. I also believe that real word testing is still occurring, so it's probably a combination of the two. Modeling gets you close, testing perfects it.
We have done precisely that since we stopped doing underground testing a while back.
