I prefer to hear a male voice’: Women commentators find harsh judgment at World Cup

I proofread court cases for extra $$. The most recent was a gender-discrimination case: apparently an employee was fired for being difficult and incompetent, but she blamed it on the male supervisor.

A witness, the employee’s mentor — and also a woman — had advised her to lower her voice when interacting with the public, because a masculine voice sounds more professional. Of course, the employee went ballistic and the witness got blamed as part of the “male” conspiracy.

If not for feminism, this employee couldn’t get a job mopping floors. She refused to hear the truth either about herself or the real world — that shrill, high-pitched voices don’t get you far. (Also attitudes — she had had very public meltdowns. Definitely a nutcase.)
