"Should Americans hold FDR liable for the loss in Pearl Harbor?"

There was an entire cottage industry around that for a while.

Personally, I dislike what Roosevelt was and what he stood for, but I don't think he knew 2000 Americans were going to be killed.

FDR did, however, sack Admiral after Admiral after Admiral, etc. until he found one willing to relocate the Pacific fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor.

It was FDR’s decision to relocate the fleet that created the opportunity for the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor.

Of course not ... He reviewed the intel from the British attack on the Italian navy at Taranto, and concluded that the worst the Japanese could do was damage a battleship or two. Small price to pay, right? (/s)

It’s quite easy to say something very cynical like that, but when it comes down to it, in today’s world of lies, dang lies, and the internet, who can know anything anymore?

Perhaps FDR was a shapeshifting lizard, too. One thing for sure, he definitely was a socialist... :P
