George Harrison was prescient. But IIRC, the taxes in Britain were off the wall. Another line of the song goes ‘If 5% appears too small, be thankful I don’t take it all’. The income tax on higher earners, like The Beatles, was 95% in the 60’s.

Right, which is why savvy groups like the Stones incorporated in low tax countries and got their money out of Britain.
