I just got back from Seattle attending the memorial for my wife's step-mother who just died at 99. She actually was a sniper in the Red army in Lenningrad way back when. She narrowly escaped execution when she was 9 when a family friend got her and her mom out of the line of former royals scheduled to be executed.

she later dated Stalin's son who helped her get out of Russia. The rest of her family all had starved to death during the siege of Lenningrad.

I went to D.C. for Reagan’s funeral and was outside the church when a TV crew stuck a microphone in my face and asked me something. I told him that part of Reagan’s legacy is down that road (don’t remember the name) about 1/4 mile. It’s the Russian embassy, NOT the embassy of the Soviet Union. I don’t know if they aired it not, but probably not.
