“How did that ‘kid’ turn out?”

Hopefully someone told him to look at the flowers.

We don’t need a wall.

We live about 40 miles from Cody, Wyoming and the cats we get are usually dumped along the North Fork highway by idiots traveling to Yellowstone. They think the cat is going to have such a wonderful life “in the country”.

The reality is that the cats usually die a miserable death when a coyote, wolf, fox, bobcat, eagle, hawk, badger, lynx, or mountain lion catches them.

If they make it to our ranch and they don’t fight with our barn cats, don’t fight with our dogs, and don’t attack/scratch our kids then we might take them in and have them spayed or neutered and then let them stay in one of the barns. If they’re smart they stay close to the barns and don’t wander because lots of things out here like to eat cats.

But our animals and kids come FIRST and any cat that comes on the property and isn’t interested in being a good citizen gets shot just like any other pest that comes here with ill intent.

I had all kinds of answers, well, until I actually read the article. As other posters have pointed out, coyotes will seriously depopulate an area of cats, then again, few coyotes have even taken high school biology let alone being at the premed level of education necessary to cleanly remove a spine with a scalpel.

Im an outdoorsman and self sufficiency homesteader so I do somewhat more butchering of various creatures than the average American. I don't have any proper med school training but I did do well enough in physiology to always get extra credit for "perfectly" removing various organs so Im probably better than the average American using a scalpel. Having said that, I don't think I could cleanly remove a spine from anything without making a mess of the rest of the carcass.

For those reasons, I would be very concerned about who may be behind this. To totally change gears...

MSM article, at least half false with likely plenty omitted, cant take it too seriously without knowing more.

And...

You know when your cat doesn't come home it might have been hit by a car or we can blame those "evil" coyotes but more likely is that another cat killed it. See, when two cats meet and a fight starts, the victor mutilates the foot pads of loser so badly the loser cant walk home. The foot pads instantly get infected and your cat crawls into the nearest secluded place to die in pain from infection & dehydration. YOU caused your cat to get tortured to death. Cats should be shot on sight, youre saving them from the pain of the eventual outcome. People who let their cats out deserve for this to happen.

There is no excuse. Cat owners who let their cats out are every bit as cruel as the butcher just more ignorant of what theyre doing.

Of course, organizations operating by defrauding idiots like HSUS know full well that cat owners are responsible for more death and cruelty of animals that anyone else. Millions of birds and small mammals, not just mice and rats, are mutilated and/or killed every year by unsupervised cats. Its cat owners who should be facing the wrath of an honest organization concerned about animal cruelty and unnecessary death.

Do you know who winds up being financially responsible for all the damage that cats cause? "Taxpayers" of course is always the right answer but its hunters and other true conservationists who have their licensing jacked up disproportionately to wind up paying the tab under the guise of some kind of wildlife rescue and habitat restoration program.

Fraudulent operators like HSUS know all of this but cant go after the average shithead cat owner because then they would be depleting the pool of the kind of simpletons they prey on.

God did not provide animals with the capability of acting morally or immorally.

That is a special gift to humans.

Coyote would eat it and leave only the head....

Pit bull would mutilate.....

Human (loosely defined) would mutilate.

The police are pretty good at identifying animal versus human attack....if they suspect human then I’d go with that....

Sick SOB....

“In cases like this a coyote is usually the perp.”

The cat was cut open with a scalple and had the spine removed. Then staged at the scene so someone would find the cat.

“People with this particular psychotic predilection often graduate to human victims.”

animal torture and mutilation is a classic symptom of a budding homicidal sociopath ...

I think we have the capability of self reflection, and therefore the ability to consider our actions and make moral judgments.

Animals generally do not, but they can know when they have violated authority, and they can exhibit guilt. Most people who have owned dogs understand that.

I am not sure cats have that ability.

On the other hand, humans, under human law, are responsible for the actions of the animals they own.

Is facilitating torture and killing of small animals a symptom of a budding homicidal sociopath?

I doubt it, or many cat owners would be so labeled.
