On Saturday night, Kathy Harrigan fed and brushed Harley, a deaf tabby cat who she had been taking care of for the past two years.

Leaving him in the heated outdoor cat house that she had built him, she went to bed. The next morning when she woke up, she told Q13 Fox News in Tacoma, Harley wasn’t waiting for her by the door as usual.

It didn’t take long before the police showed up with bad news. Harley had been found mutilated on a neighbor’s lawn, they told her - making the semi-feral 20-year-old tabby’s death the seventh in a string of killings in recent months that officials in Thurston County, Washington, believe is the work of a serial cat killer.

When it comes to animal cruelty, let the punishment fit the crime.

Feral dog, coyote or two-legged monster.

It’s worldwide: from the article.

There have been several cases of cats being serially mutilated in other cities over the past several years. In 2016, a San Jose man pleaded guilty to 21 felony counts related to the torture and deaths of 20 cats. In January, a London man was arrested for allegedly beheading five cats and leaving their bodies in places for “their owners or members of the public to find,” according to the Independent.

I think they need to question Wiley Coyote. In cases like this a coyote is usually the perp.

No- human animals!!!! The article is long and gruesome, but is more evidence of the decay in our society.

Our cat Bob was an outdoor cat all his life until we moved to the country. Now he won’t budge. He hears and smells the coyotes.

One more reason why I keep my cats inside. There are some really evil people out there.

Two legged monster is my guess. People see feral dogs, coyotes just make the cats disappear...

And the two-legged ones are the ones I worry about.

People with this particular psychotic predilection often graduate to human victims.

Kill them before they do.

The proceeding was sponsored by my cats.

There were numerous articles on that topic posted here yesterday.

Can’t we discuss both?

Some cats simply will not stay inside. My wife and I once "adopted" a stray cat. He was very affectionate, and started approaching us when we were out on the deck. He would come inside, stay the night, but when he wanted to leave, he would leave. We even had him neutered in an attempt to try to keep him inside. He spent a lot of time in the house, and would always come back; though it might be a day or two before we saw him again (he may have had several families he stayed with). We had him around for 5 or 6 years before he never came back one day.

We have an indoor cat now that has always been an indoor cat. But the feral ones sometimes will not allow themselves to become 100% domesticated.

look, i agree this is awful. I love cats.
But the woman describing Tarot as “ a friend to other cats, and dogs as well” makes her sound like a nutjob.
I hope they catch said cat mutilator, this is a disturbed individual.

I need some politically correct guidance, if you please.

If ferals in Chicago shooting, stabbing, and occasionally getting creative is more important than serial killers in training, where does South Sudan fit in on your ladder of concern? Burma? Kurdistan? Yemen?

I want to be as politically correct as you, so could you please provide a ranking.

I was going to post "in before someone suggests people are far more important than animals"; but I was too late.

If you read the article and read what is being done to these cats, you will see that a disturbed and sadistic person is out there. The guy sounds like a future BTK-type killer in the making.
