Wasn’t this sub/museum in the news a year ago or more? Seems like they were trying restore it after it had pretty much been left neglected for too long? Maybe wanted to move it to another locale but it was pretty much land locked where it was. I don’t recall specifics. The vandalism is abhorrent.

Wasn’t this sub/museum in the news a year ago or more?

Remember seeing a segment on one of the TV programs about this submarine deteriorating on the Hackensack River ... with little funding its future looked bleak. The question was how to remove it which someone commented on a earlier post.
A short distance away in Bayonne, NJ there was a huge scrap yard where old navy ships were dismantled. Saw a WWII era aircraft being being scrapped, this was maybe 25 years ago. This submarine, with no wartime history, should have met a similar fate.
