Never knew their names, but I’m sure you mean the blond.
IIRC, both couples eventually broke up.
Frida is the brunette. I didn’t care for her hairstyle in that video, though.
Hard to pay much attention to the brunette with that beautiful blond in the picture.
Never seen her looking better than in this video:

Frida looks a lot more “fun”, though.
You’re welcome SC. And thank you for the 2008 story about the drummer. I don’t recall it at all. But then 2008 was a nightmare of a year, especially the last two months of it.
ie, B.O. takes overover in DC
That's a battle scene showing The Duke of Wellington (Arthur Wellesley)on his horse Copenhagen...
Napoleon rode a white horse...
My pleasure. :^) I’m surprised my memory was accurate enough to have the search work right away. ;^)
We all ought to put snips of our hair into some kind of embellished object and auction it on you-know-where.
:-P
I’m waiting for a lock of Yul Brenner’s, and Telly Savalas’ hair to come up for auction, so I can complete my Famous Hair collection.
You could say the same thing about Alexander the Great, Gengis whatsisname, Caesar, many many others.
There’s always been a bit of a fascination with conquerors, successful or not, and especially if they represent an idealized image of your nation’s past.
Due to our local high schools efforts to indoctrinate me, I missed out on the year of Euro history, so I’m a bit weak on the French Revolution, etc., but I think that Mr. Napolean is highly regarded not just for his conquests, but also for bringing France out of the nightmares of the revolution and the terror.
As to that other fellow, well, you really should look up the youtube of Eddie Izzard talking about empires and such. Quite amusing.
Do you have a flag?
:)
Legend has it that the cross was made of Dogwood..................
Don’t suck on it yourself. Feed it to someone you hate.
> Napoleon is highly regarded not just for his conquests, but also for bringing France out of the nightmares of the revolution and the terror. <
There are many parallels between Napoleon and Hitler. Both men were not born in the country proper they ended up ruling. And both men pulled their nations out of a crisis: Napoleon and the Terror, Hitler and the Great Depression.
Then both men went on a megalomaniac wars of conquest, wars that ended in disaster. However, only Napoleon is celebrated today. They both should be on the trash heap of history, IMO.
Your parallels are correct, and I won’t argue that point.
It’s just a funny thing either way, and it would be interesting to see how they’re both regarded in another 200 years.
Aside from being more recent history, I’d suggest that the two major differences between the two would be the following:
NB did not attempt to exterminate a race of people.
NB invaded Russia when it was an imperialist monarchy, not when it was a holy paradise of the socialist peepel’s republik. (sarcasm, but when you think about it, the media loved AH right up until 1941, go figure)
Anyway, good day to you, or at least hopefully decent enough for a Monday
> it would be interesting to see how theyre both regarded in another 200 years <
Yes, indeed. Napoleon will certainly fare better, for - I think - two reasons. As you said, he never tried to exterminate a race of people. And two, there were no photographers in his day. No one to capture images of all those dead Frenchmen in the snow.
And good day to you as well. It has been an interesting conversation!
