I’ve been choked out in BJJ classes. Its pretty quick and no pain, just a little fear. 3 or 4 seconds, max. Head chopping is barbaric, no matter the efficiency. I can not support that form of capital punishment.
A priest, a drunk, and an engineer were sentenced to the guillotine.
The priest went first. The executioner asked if he wanted to go face up or face down. “Face up,” said the priest, “so I can look into the eyes of God.”
The priest was placed into position.
The executioner reached for the rope holding the heavy blade. Pulled. The blade released and fell and then came to a lurching stops inches before severing the head of the priest!
“It’s a miracle!” Shouted the crowd.
The priest was saved.
The drunk went next. The executioner asked if he wanted to go face up or face down. “Face up,” said the drunk, “so that you can pour wine into my mouth as I take my last breath.”
The drunk was positioned, and enjoyed a final drink.

“What the heck,” replied the engineer. “I suppose I will go face up like the others.”
