I know no one who has collected a check for ADHD. I work with tons of folks who were coming off welfare and had kids wi th all sorts of stuff wrong with them.
That comment is Ill informed and just silly.
When my son was in kindergarten, he didn’t want to sit in his seat and color pictures. The teacher said, “If I would let him sit by the bookcase and look at books all day, I would never hear from him.”
Teacher decided he needed Ritalin. His father and I refused, since we thought our son might need his healthy brain cells some day. We certainly made the right choice!
Many of them actually have food allergies. Speaking from experience.
I think that is probably right. Do they even have recess anymore?
