Timeless has miraculously cheated death for a second time. One month after cancelling the cult drama (again), NBC announced Tuesday that it has ordered a two-part finale that will give “closure to the globetrotting series.” The Peacock net did not specify an air date beyond confirming that the two-hour event will premiere during the holidays.

Didn't see this posted though I've seen other articles about this show posted so I know we have a lot of fans of this series here. This has been one of the few decent shows on regular network television as far as production and creative storyline that I've actually watched. It is very well done except it is unfortunate a few entire episodes were dedicated to promoting a Leftist social narrative...though at the same time there were episodes (like the Harriet Tubman episode) that portrayed people of faith in a positive light. But for that, this would have been a series I would have bought on DVD or BluRay...nonetheless, it is nice to see they will produce a movie to bring closure to the storyline rather than just leaving the whole thing on a cliffhanger never to be told like networks have done so many times in the past. It makes sense if you are going to pull the plug on a series like this that you give an opportunity to produce a few more episodes (or a movie like this) to allow the creators to close the storyline first even if it is not a whole final season.

They did that type of closure on ‘Frequency’ in about a 5 minute episode a few years back.

Didn’t bother after stomaching it for the whole first season. Kept trying, but it was clear it was full of self- righteous superior snide quips about the old days being inferior with their terrible unPC ways. Most prominently the black guy, whoa is me, we’re always treated so badly. Every episode was a lot like Ken Burns docs, all about how oppressed blacks were and maybe also how women were condescended to. Get tired of them and all liberals constantly insulting my “family” which is their own as well.

Liked that show at first but it just kept getting more and more PC, until it became puke inducing.

Enjoyed it at first, then later in the first season it felt like more of an obligation. Then I watched one episode in the second season and threw in the towel.

I don't know why I feel like I have to complete a season if I get so far into it rather than just quitting. I'm that way with books too. If I read the first few chapters I feel like I have to finish it.

The extreme political correctness lost me even though I initially thought it was a great show: The head woman (white) married to a black woman, the lead black actor telling his white girlfriend there is no God, the lead white female time traveler murdering an American soldier in WW 1 with no remorse whatsoever and never another word about it. The God comment finally lost me.

Late coming back to the thread here - but I agree - there were entire episodes and scenes that didn’t advance the plot at all and were nothing more than propaganda. Hence, I won’t be buying this series on DVD. It is probably why the long term ratings were less then spectacular.

That character you discuss goes back in time in the next episode and meets Harriet Tubman has his worldview rattled by how strong a person of faith she is. They were very respectful of faith in that particular episode.

Thanks for the update. The PC was all too much for me.

I enjoyed the finale and it was good that they green lighted that so the story could be wrapped up.

This show could have been a masterpiece - it shows that talent does in fact exist to make a good storyline. It’s unfortunate they chose to hijack their own creation at times and inserted their left-wing social and political agenda into the mix rather than just telling a good story to entertain the audience - they probably don’t get why the ratings were mediocre because they alienated a significant portion of the potential audience and others just didn’t like the storyline being watered down for irrelevant stuff that had nothing to do with advancing the storyline.

While this is a show I overall enjoyed watching through once, I probably won’t be looking for to watch in re-runs in the future and definitely won’t be buying a DVD or Blu-Ray set...it could have been that good, but alas they just could not help themselves. One of the reasons I’ve started watching K-dramas in addition to watching older school stuff (like on H&I, MeTV, etc.) where this SJW nonsense isn’t present.

In any event, if you liked the time-travel aspect of Timeless, you might really enjoy the K-dramas “Signal” and “Tunnel” which are available free on a smart TV app called “viki” or you can just watch them from your computer at the viki website. Of course you have to watch with subtitles due to the language being Korean, but once you get into the storyline you don’t think about that being what you are doing. And there’s no SJW junk thrown in which is nice. They just focus on telling a good story.

Watched and enjoyed it. Even doubled back and watched the episodes missed because of disgust with the show’s sickening leftism and remorseless political correctness.

Now close the book NBC and end this on a high note

And send Lucy to me.

I watched the final show and it was mostly free of their PS crap. I thought the ending was good were everyone lived happily ever after. I also liked the truth of NK civilians trying to escape the brutal Nork and Chinese Armies.

It was a well crafted episode and a good ending to the series.

The only part I didn’t like was Lucy at the end telling her student she “didn’t have time” to get to any male historical figures.

And the complete 100% heroization Flynn doesn’t make much sense to me, dude shot Lincoln.

My favorite part of the show was history changing in minor ways (Lincoln shot by mystery assassin (Flynn) New Bond movie with hot 60’s brunette undoubtedly playing Lucy).

Overall the “PC” wasn’t a huge deal to me. People were upset about the episode where they stopped the dyke boss from being pressured into a hetero marriage. Was I supposed to be rooting for some poor guy getting saddled with a lesbo wife?

You write as though that entire episode was necessary for advancing the plot. It was utterly pointless - just there to promote the agenda of the show's writers - as well as multiple other scenes and discussions in the series that had zero point to the plot.

And the complete 100% heroization Flynn doesn’t make much sense to me, dude shot Lincoln.

Right...a lot of the things he did had nothing to do with stopping Rittenhouse.
