“take-no-prisoners cycling advocates”

They could’ve made the case without the anti-white idiocy.

I hate cycling advocates.

Exactly.

Bike Lanes are BS. Those lanes are needed for cars, trucks and buses. Want to ride a bike. Take your chances.

I am a bicyclist and I hate a lot of the cycling advocates. They can’t seem to understand that you don’t win by making people hate you more.

I don’t flaunt laws, run over people or block traffic. I choose routes that don’t interfere with drivers. I almost never have an issue with drivers.

In the end, I want the same thing the automobile drivers want, mutual courtesy, respect and safety. I’ve said for years that bicycles used on roads should be subject to a yearly safety inspection just like a car. Road cyclist should also have to pass a signs and rules test like a moped, scooter or small motorcycle. Cyclist should be required to have a picture ID, just like a driver.

Things that make cycling safer also make driving safer. For example, a paved shoulder on roads benefits both drivers and cyclist. I don’t like “bike lanes” because people park in them and they tend to be poorly thought out.

I’m confused ... I thought riding bikes was going to save the planet from globull warming. Now, it’s bad that people are doing it?

But the roughly 98 percent of New Yorkers Americans need protection from the young, testosterone-fueled white black males who comprise the vast majority of two-wheel desperadoes violent crimes.

Dammit, I got Racism again. Back to the programming cells...

(I must write, 1000 times, "Bicycling inconveniences are important enough for Racism. Violent crimes are not.")

“Same road, same rules!” the bike Nazis who ride four abreast and block the entire lane love to scream at cars, until it comes to waiting at a red light. Then the bikers feel that red lights are to be treated as a suggestion.

I once came across a bicycle tour on a narrow mountain road. It was impossible to pass them since they took up the entire lane and with the curves it was impossible to know if there was on coming traffic - They thought it was funny as a line of cars began to form.

Is it a wonder that some non-cyclist don’t like these idiots.

Are NY cyclists like the west coast ones who believe that traffic signs, traffic lights and pedestrian right of way laws don’t apply to them? (Like I need to ask)

I am not against Bike Lanes per se.... but I am against turning a full car lane into a bike lane on a busy street that has ZERO bike traffic.

They have been on a kick here in Pgh for a while with these, and some get used frequently, and I am okay with that... most probably see no more than 10 or 20 bikes a DAY....

No need for confusion. Just never forget that Leftists do care about anything but power and control, even as they are destroying everything they supposedly want "fixed".

They insisted on forging "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", and within a decade screamed about how horrible it is. They fawned over hydro-electric power, then cried out over the inconvenienced fish. They begged for wind power, and now pull their hair out about "bird-choppers". They fear-mongered about global cooling and premature Ice Ages in the 70s, and then shifted to warming in the early 2000s, and next shifted to simply "Change", while desperately trying to convert the Scientific Method into a majority-rule vote. They will deride very aspect of capitalism and tear down its every institution, and then they will bitch about the economy in a smoldering ruin.

It is simply what they do.

The fact of the matter is that pedestrians have always been victims of out-of-control bicyclists in NYC - whether “people of color” messengers, “people of color” delivery boys or insane white guys and gals. Now with all these bike lanes (which just made more auto congestion), it is even more dangerous as they ride against traffic and through red lights. I despise them!

More than a few cyclists ran afoul of my 40+ lb. tool case on the streets and sidewalks of lower Manhattan in the 70s and 80s.
