I guess the question is, at what point does one speak out, when the person first enters a high-power position, or when the person reaches the highest power position?

Being honest with you here: I shut up forever about my personal stuff with my name attached. I am pretty private. But yes, really high office, I’d feel kicked in my rear by Gd to stand up. I would never want to. But it would have to be a serious life long character issue like pedophilia. And no, I would not wait til nominating month. I’d say it right after the name was mentioned in public for the job.
