Interesting point. But, is the left partly responsible for declines in TV viewership? Is that possible, since the left has infected the NFL, these awards shows, networks such as CNN?
Even TV programming in general, with sitcoms pushing liberalism, are infected with leftist themes. Is there a critical mass of leftism which is turning all of us off? That’s a question to ponder.
Not to discount the effects of politics, but broadcast TV is too awful and cable TV is too expensive. Many people are going over to streaming, and what they’re streaming reflects the same attitudes as what they were watching before. Fewer people are watching network news — by far — but they may not be getting away from the Hollywood stuff that some object to on political or moral grounds.
