Political films preach to their choirs. No one goes to see the opposite views films.
This may be true, but looking at Rotten Tomatoes scores tells more of the story:

Notice that the critics have almost as huge a difference as possible from the audience for D'souza's films? And notice they have a sizable difference going the other way from the audience in Moore's? And notice that the Left leaning audience of Moore's films were not that impressed, but the right leaning audience of D'souza's films were impressed?
