When did they ever have a sense of humor?
Feminism and feminization may have had something to do with it. Also, the increasing importance of universities to the left. Mostly, though, it may just be that politics are so polarized now and people are so serious about their beliefs.
They never were fun.
Now they are getting more and more dangerous.
They should all move to N. Korea.

There may have been an exception now and then:
“Everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma... breathalyzer...”
They have a great sense of humor as long as they control the death camps.
