vanity - A Different Take on Dr Ford

Posted on 09/27/2018 5:50:08 PM PDT by jda

So, correct me if I’m wrong: it sounds to me that the first real recollection that Dr Ford had about the alleged sexual abuse was when she was undergoing marital counseling ... in 2012. And, my understanding is that the notes from those sessions don’t mention Judge Kavanaugh.

I know that therapists can “help” patients remember things from the past - sometimes when they didn’t even happen. Is it possible that Dr Ford, with the help of “therapy”, really believes that something happened to her when it really didn’t? Maybe she is a victim, but Judge Kavanaugh is not the perpetrator????

recovered memories are very tricky and an ethical counselor stays away from them.

In a practical sense, it doesn’t matter where her accusation came from. The burden of proof was on her, and she had none. End of story.

Maybe she was cucking her husband and came up with the abuse angle to justify an affair.

Come at me jda, I have as much evidence as Ford has accusing Kavanaugh (Minus shrink-client privilege).

It’s called False Memory Syndrome.

From wikipedia: False memory syndrome (FMS) describes a condition in which a person’s identity and relationships are affected by memories that are factually incorrect but that they strongly believe. Peter J. Freyd originated the term, which the False Memory Syndrome Foundation (FMSF) subsequently popularized. The term is not recognized as a psychiatric illness in any of the medical manuals, such as the ICD-10 or the DSM-5; however, the principle that memories can be altered by outside influences is overwhelmingly accepted by scientists. False memories may be the result of recovered memory therapy, a term also defined by the FMSF in the early 1990s, which describes a range of therapy methods that are prone to creating confabulations.

That’s been my supposition since day 1. It explains EVERYTHING.

False Memory Syndrome resulting from the now debunked pseudoscience of Repressed Memory Therapy.

Research those terms. Eye-opening.

I saw some suggestion that this was the result of some kind of “recovered memory therapy” but am not sure if it was true.

I guess anything is possible but I very strongly get the impression she is a liar.

Of course it’s posdible. Even likely. ‘Recovered memories’ are notoriously faulty. Suggestions by therapists can easily ‘trigger’ something in the patient, but sometimes a patient just wanting to ‘please’ the therapist plays into it. I wonder if Ford’s therapist patted her on the head and said ‘good, Little Chrissy.....here have another treat’.

She was only 15. It’s possible that she went to a gathering, and she got in a bad situation, probably with someone else. To justify her bad behavior, in her mind she built a false narrative where she was a victim. (just another possibility)

I know I heard that they were in counseling because of a disagreement over a home remodel issue. Really? Really. Yup, Fidiots.

My point is that this perfectly explains why Dr Ford can be so believable (she obviously believes what she is saying), yet so wrong. But, the questioner didn’t even come close to going there. It seems to me quite relevant as to when her “recall” actually began.

No doubt she’s a nut job who’s been used and abused her whole life.

A perfect patsy for the left to rape and abuse in their sneaky little way while professing to be her champion. Exactly the same thing they did to the blacks.

She’s a known leftist operative. She was either recruited by Feinstein’s opposition research monkeys by scouring Kavanaugh’s high school year book or she decided to cash in or a combination of both.

All she claims happened was that when she was a teenager, another teenager got on top of her and grinded here. BIG EFFIN DEAL!

I still say she was flirting with the boys and knew what she was doing. It wasn’t until she got to college that the Feminist teachers brainwashed her into thinking that the event was assault and battery. She is a snow-flake who was looking for a reason to call herself a victim. It’s all part of the Me-To Movement.

My brother a medical doctor had a mental breakdown down and ended up in a treatment program where he was hypnotized and convinced he had been sexually abused by our moms dad. After he got out and told me about this I delicately told him I was 10 years younger than him and spent every summer staying with my grandparents and never saw or heard any such behavior. However I believed he believed this happened but he was wrong. A few years later he got a temp doctor job in Nederland Texas and visited all of grandads neighbors and all of them raved about how our now dead grandfather would buy people groceries or repair doors or plumbing for anyone he heard about in need. Eventually my brother figured out it was a false memory implanted by the therapist. I think this is what likely happened to Professor Ford.
