It is very simple. If anyone fears ANY Supreme Court Justice, he or she should embrace the Liberty Amendments:
~~~
First off, supreme Court justices are term limited.
-- secondly --
Chapter Four "empowers congress, upon three-fifths vote in the House and Senate, to override a majority opinion of the scotus. Likewise, so may the states, by three-fifths vote, override a majority opinion of the scotus. This power is ... limited to twenty-four months after the date of the opinion. Knowing that the states and a newly federalized congress stand ready to look over their shoulders, the wild social justice predispositions of scotus are certain to subside."
Ping.
It is always funny when the left loses they want to change the rules that allowed them to shape our culture.
They had no problem with the courts becoming “living documents” when it came to overturning centuries of laws and customs.
Now the courts must be brought under control.
Tell you what guys, give us 70 years to repaid some of the courts bad decisions and we may get back to you.
What if Kavanaugh turns out to be another ‘Justice’ Roberts?
The current method seems to be working just fine. I’ll take the founders over Mark Levin any day. If his thinking towards Donald Trump held much sway, then Hillary Clinton would currently be our president.
Btw, I have forgiven Mark but I don’t really listen to him too much anymore unless I accidentally click on his station. I used to go out of my way to listen to him.
‘The current method seems to be working just fine.’
Oh FRiend.
You have a lot to learn.
‘Ill take the founders over Mark Levin any day.’
Did the Founders want the senate to be like this? No. They wanted senators to be above mob-rule.
Did the Founders want a coal train barging through the Commerce Clause?
No.
Did the Founders want to take away the states’ right to investigate murder?
No.
Did the Founders want our military prisoners tried in civilian court?
No.
The list goes on. And on. And on.
Ever hear of Kelo?
Do you realise we were one heart beat away from losing our gun rights?
Do you realise how close we were to the courts handing the White House over to Al Gore?
Do you realize that a constitutional court would have ruled down the unconstitutional ATF?
On and on.
We can revisit this after the 52,000 sealed Federal Court documents are unsealed. There may be much less that needs to be changed after the corruption is removed.
Are you happy that so many courts gavelled down Trump’s sane VISA policy?
?
Then we live with it
‘There may be much less that needs to be changed after the corruption is removed.’
That’s only if you trust our ‘higher’ learning.
Each next batch of justices will be products of what?
You live with it.
Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson would NOT live with it.
Nor will I.
Maybe Kavanaugh will turn out fine.
I pray he does.
But we no longer need any lifetime oligarchs, just as Thomas Jefferson had warned.
Me too. I used to listen to him everyday on my way home from work. Now I’m retired and he irritated me so much during the camapign that I just shut him off.
> upon three-fifths vote in the House and Senate, to override a majority opinion of the scotus <
That’s an nteresting idea, but it’s too low a bar. It takes a 2/3 majority to override a presidential veto. It should be the same here.
“Ill take the founders over Mark Levin any day. “
That garbage came from Levin. Figures...
This should not have been this important. The fact that 5 people with lifetime appointments can overrule the will of hundreds of millions of American without any recourse is ridiculous. At the very least we need a 2/3 Senate override for SC decisions.
meh
You have a lot to learn.
It would seem that according to this very conservative and intelligent site, you and Mark (is that you, Mark?) may be the one’s who have something to learn.
Fwiw, did you share Mark’s vitriol towards Trump? Who was your pick to be president prior to the primary’s?
