Your Week 7 college football Watch Grid is doing the very best it can

I type this four or five times each season: every college football weekend is a good college football weekend. A look at Week 7’s Saturday morning will test this. But things get better! And the weeknights could be OK!

Below, the Watch Grid sorts your Saturday by watchability. As always, only one game may earn WATCH THIS status per time slot, and watchability is not based on how prestigious your university is or how much I respect your student-athletes, because I think your school is too good to be measured.

First, the weeknights. All times p.m. ET.

Looks like I will be able to do chores Saturday early afternoon until 3:30 pm EST when the remote previous button will be abused. First is UGa visiting the Bayou version of Death Valley. This will be UGa's toughest test to date. It will be interesting what LSU has in the tank after sinking in the Swamp. In a loser goes home game, the Grunge Dawgs visit Niketown. The loser is knocked out of playoff contention while the winner has the inside track to win the Pac 12 north. The game features two of the best QBs in the country. The prime time game is the Badgers visiting the Big House. We shall see if Michigan is for real or Harbaugh losses another big game. In perhaps a potential upset game is the #6 Mountaineers visiting Aames, Iowa. Iowa State is coming off a road win at the Okie State.

Sheesh … I am a Husky and it still took me a few seconds to figure out Grunge Dawgs vs Niketown was Washington vs Oregon. Might want to dial back the unique nicknames a little.

The Mutts are going to get a nice welcoming to Autzen.

My friends the best games should be in prime time mid-week. Georgia Southern? Gimme a break! The NFL is doing it’s best to put itself out of business and the NCAA won’t capitalize on it.

I disagree. College football belongs on Saturday afternoons, and high school football under the Friday night lights.

Not sure why the Networks decided all games have to start at Noon or 3:30 - some of the night games have 6 or 7:30 starts - The day game times need to be spread out.

3 time slots to (hopefully) get in 3 full games. And, by the way, not everyone lives in the Eastern time zone. I think it’s the ACC that runs slightly off schedule.

Most of the major conferences are on the ABC family; CBS has the SEC, and NBC has Notre Dame. Fox has the Big 10.

Just confirmed on the calendar: Waterfowl season opens this weekend. Experts predict an above average harvest of ducks in the Willamette Valley.

The Ducks are going to be doing some hunting. Peterson has still yet to have a big win but he has had some massive losses he should have won.

Really made up for 13 in a row. Any team can have a bad decade or two.

Yeah, I know … but WA went 18-4 against OR from 72-93, then OR went 17-4 from 94-15. Overall, WA leads the series 60-45-5. The big question is … has OR actually gotten THAT much better over the last year … because WA has not regressed.
