FWIW, if it were not for the Stellar Labs ones I now swear by, the 280’s are my second choice. Not nearly as comfortable, though.

You could plug a blue tooth transmitter into the same jack on your receiver. You probably wouldn’t hear the interference because it is digital rather than analog.

You mentioned Roku, if you have a smartphone, you can download the Roku app, in addition to working as a remote, you can plug your headphones into the phone and listen through the phone instead of the receiver.

This may sound too simple, but try a different 3.5 to 1/4 jack adapter.
Also, have you tried shifting the location of the transmitter for the RCAs ?
If there have been times that your phones have performed w/o static, I’d imagine that there’s something nearby causing the interference.

I’ve had two pairs of Sennheiser HDR120s for a long time, and can highly recommend them (prolly different model #s by now).
Sound quality’s great and I routinely get 50’ of signal thru block walls w/o any cut-out, etc.
They run for a 2-3 days on 2xAAA batts .. takes 5 seconds to swap in a fresh pair and using rechargeables it costs next to nothing.
Can’t say the same about the bluetooth buds I have - quite limited range, battery life is short, and pairing is a pain.

Good luck with it.

Bose Quiet Comfort, pricey but excellent performance with outstanding noise cancellation.

I like closed headphones as a rule although I have some older open.

I have BT AirPods and use them as well along with some Plantronics sportss BT.

I would get a spiral cord extender for length.

I would try a Beyerdynamics DT-1350 (closed). There are a number of types at 80 ohms resistance or less. I like them better than Sennheisers that cost double the price.

If you want the best and latest BT Beyerdynamic, I would get the Aventho and for a Ipod or Iphone where you want to have a microphone I would get Beyerdynamic “T51 i”

As always, Freepers never fail to be full of knowledge! Again, much thanks for all the comments. On my next day off work when I have plenty of time, I’ll carefully research all the products/suggestions.
