My wireless headphones have static. Use them for watching Netflix, Roku, antenna TV. I've tried moving the base around, changing channels, everything. Nothing helps. I'm ready to buy some Wired headphones, but I need about a 15 foot cord to go from audio receiver to couch.
I've searched some on Amazon but not finding much with that long length of a cord. Anyone know of any long-corded headphones (reasonably priced)? And please forgive this Audio Vanity using FR bandwidth. But I know FR is a great source of knowledge and helpful suggestions, so I'm shamefully posting this vanity.
Wireless that is. Don't get corded ones. That's old technology.
Believe it or not, the $1 earbuds at Walmart work great.
You can get an extension for them like this:
Apple AirPods.
Best headphones Ive ever own, Bose Quiet Comfort INCLUDED.
There are audio extender cords which will allow one to plug the extender cord into the receiver and plug the headphone into the other end of the extender cord.
If need be, you can do corded, and use an extension cable, with the male plug that fits into the TV and the female into which you plug your headphones.
Wireless, however, are more convenient. A really good pair, such as Sennheiser, or ones comparable, can cost quite a bit. Check ebay or amazon.
You didnt mention your equipment. Other than moving a base around and wireless headphones.
Whats your setup?
Do you use florescent bulbs in the house? The old ballasts tend to be bad RF noisy generators. If you were to replace those boobs with LED this would severely drop the lower levels, and still provide adequate lighting
I didn’t much care for my Apple AirPods. I do, however, LOVE my Bose QuietComfort wireless headphones. Nothing compares.
Yea Im quite pleased with my AirPods too. Even sweating doing yard work hasnt fazed them. And I can wear them helmetless on the motorcycle and they stay in. Not that I go crazy helmetless or anything, but still.
Sorry, forgot to mention. I have an optical cord running from my TV to my audio receiver which is a Sony DTR ST897 (old receiver). The wireless headphones, RCA WHP141, are plugged into the Sony receiver thru the quarter-inch headphone jack using an adapter.
And for the other folks suggesting an adio extension cord, I feel like the static would still be there even using an audio extension cord. So that’s why I’m leaning towards a corded headphone now.
I keep coming back to my Samsung Level U headphones. They’re Bluetooth and cheap (~$15 on eBay) but super comfortable to wear all day and even sleep with them on. The buds magnet together around my neck inside my shirt, so I can pop them in or out of my ears in about 2 seconds and very discreet when not in use. The battery lasts 1-2 days depending on use and don’t need a charging dock to keep in your pocket like airpods.
Or, your can get any old wired headphones and a really long extension cable as others have mentioned.
Pull out the connector and reseat it on the sending end.
I’ve used my Bose QC every day for over 10 years and they are great. Replaced the cushions once.
Just tried that and it didn’t help. But thanks, worth trying.
The florescent bulb is in the kitchen, none in the living room.

Your RCAs are 900 Mhz. The Bluetooth should work fine and work at 2.4 Ghz.
I love the wireless, but I think the problem is with electrical interference at this location. Apartment living at it’s best,,ha.
