One of the issues here is that many people commute to DC from all over. It may be fine in the city, but treacherous to the northwest. It’s also very difficult to predict weather here. I can remember some really bad calls.
Lots of places in Fly Over Country have stretches of nasty commuting weather.
Just because plenty of LSMers live around DC doesn’t make their weather significant National News. Except maybe hurricanes.
Weather is unpredictable but climate change is settled. Anyway, why don't we just allow the weather/climate to chose to identify itself as it, "feels"?
