“Having had breast cancer once, any treatment like this is of great interest. ...”

Also of equal interest here. The treatment described may well prove significant in cancer treatment. Greatest obstacle now may be government and pharmaceutical companies.

My wife is well past a year of the “5-Year Breast Cancer Survivor” milestone. Early detection was a godsend. Family support, good health and competent treatment enabled her her to see it through. She did have a prescription-medicine related eye-sight problem that required extensive treatment.
But all-in-all cancer treatment was a success requiring only standard follow-on examinations.

In some ongoing state of common sense vigilance we’d also agree that “it’s never REALLY gone.”

My best friend kicked breast cancer twice starting 30 years ago. This last time it took her; it had metastasized through many areas of her body. She passed on Sunday night.

I’ve just passed the four-year mark, but I don’t believe a word of those milestones.
