Between 40 and 45 students were taken to local hospitals near the city of George, Washington -- about 125 miles east of Spokane. The bus was taking the band members to Friday's Night's game between the No. 16 Huskies and No. 8 Cougars in Pullman -- located near the Washington border with Idaho.
"The injuries reported were cuts, complaints of general pain and back pain, but the injuries are not believed to be critical," Washington spokesman Victor Balta said in a statement, according to ESPN.com. "The University is doing everything it can to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff and to get them safely back on their journey to Pullman."
Patrick Stanton, a member of the Washington band, provided updates on the situation on Twitter late Thursday night.
It is unclear if the band will be in attendance Friday night at 8:30 p.m. when the Huskies and Cougars play for the Pac-12 North title

I had to read that headline a few times...
125 miles East of Spokane youd be in Missoula MT or thereabouts.
George, WA is in the middle of WA on I90. Apparently the band members were from WSU Pullman.
Im glad no one was seriously injured but the writer is terrible.
I saw a report where the locals were delivering free food to the victims. Uh, oh. Mom’s basement on wheels.
Agreed that the writer is absolutely terrible. The game is in Pullman, so I think that it probably was the UW band.
From Google”There are 121.50 miles from Seattle to George in southeast direction and 149 miles (239.79 kilometers) by car, following the I-90 route.” The writer should have said from Seattle, instead of from Spokane. Spokane is way north of the route from Seattle to Pullman and does not figure in the trip, although George is 120 some miles west of Spokane on the route to Seattle.
I hope the band members recover in time for tonight’s game.

I am wondering what they were doing going past the Highway 26 exit to Pullman, maybe getting food at George? Conditions were icy.
No, it was the UW band, traveling from SEATTLE to SPOKANE on the way to today’s APPLE CUP in PULLMAN. And only 20 - 25 students went to the hospital.

Journalism schools are producing a sub-par product these days. Youre right, the headline is awful.
Why would you go to Spokane to get to Pullman. Pullman is far South of Spokane.
Of course, this just shows how insignificant Eastern Washington is to so-called journalists who are educated, so-called, in our facilities of higher learning.
Westbound there is a really bad curve just before you hit the Vantage Bridge.
I don’t know if it really is a bad headline, but my mind was not initially reading it the way I think they intended it..my mind was thinking something more, er...humorous...
Because you spend the night in Spokane which is a large city with many good hotels . Pullman is a very small burg . I am just speculating, ask them.
Pullman is an hours drive from Spokane
I read an article years ago about SAT scores. The students with the lowest scores go the the School of Education; and, the students with the second lowest SAT scores to to the School of Communication (journalism).
Make of that what you will.
My daughter is a grad of WSU, so I have been to Pullman. I would think that they are going to Spokane (about an hours drive to Pullman) because there would be more lodging opportunities than at Pullman.
The Apple Cup is a big deal around here with the two largest universities going head to head (Univ. of Washington & Washington State Univ.). So, lots of people coming from the West side of the State (Seattle area), across the mountain pass and on to Pullman in the East. The weather at Snoqualmie Pass was treacherous last night and I am assuming the bus driver was driving a bit too fast for conditions. The only news report I have heard about it said the driver thought he had hit a piece of icy pavement.
Poor dears. I hope they all recover quickly.
How do you get from Seattle to Pullman?
Drive east until you smell ahit, then turn south until you step in it!
