Former lottery pick and college basketball star Jimmer Fredette wants to return from China to play in the NBA. The 29-year-old's last NBA stint was with the New York Knicks in 2016. Since then, the 6-foot-2 combo guard has made two Chinese Basketball Association All-Star appearances and won CBA's International MVP award last year. He has averaged 37.4 points per game since playing in China, shooting 41.2 percent from downtown. HoopsHype recently caught up with Fredette to discuss his future plans and his desire to come back to the United States.

Is there a reason this is considered newsworthy? How about not posting articles about irrelevant people.
It is harder to get signed to a position in the NBA if you are not black. It is just like it was when the league was all white and black players had to be much better to be accepted at all. I would love to see him get a chance, it is a good storyline.
As a Golden State Warriors fan, thank you Kings for taking this guy so that the Dubs could swoop in and take Klay Thompson with the very next pick.
Fredette is not irrelevant.
Period.
Fredette is not explosive enough to create separation in the lane from faster, taller players. Always be a fringe NBA player at best.
He’s a star in China. He’d be a fringe bench player in the NBA if he made a roster at all. He’s found the right place for his basketball career, and he should make the most of it.
Appropriate to call him a fraud? Did he somehow lie or mislead? All the teams that had a chance to draft him got to watch all the film of him playing for BYU. They had a full chance to know what they were getting right?
The man can’t guard a mannequin. Despite the fact that the NBA plays minimal defense, they expect more than what he can give.
Interestingly, if Fredette could develop a decent three-point shooting ability, he could be very effective in the 2018 NBA. Especially now with less emphasis on defense thanks to the ban on hand checking.
Luka Doncic is actually making me excited to watch the NBA again.
