Nice, venison yum. We saw 2 bucks on 2 different days just browsing around our yard between the barn and the house, taking a good 20 minutes just nosing around. After gun season started. Very unusual. We don’t bait or hunt, I could have gotten both easily by just opening the slider in my nightgown, but gutting them - that’s a different story. One was a 6 point and one a 4 point.
I’m over shooting them, myself, and there is NO competing with Mr. Wonderful when it comes to killin’ thangs. ;) Got my last deer when I was in my 20’s. BUT - once they’re ready to butcher, I always help. And, of course, the cooking chores fall to me. *SHRUG*
My boys and I used to play, ‘Deer: CSI’ It got them over the queasiness and was also a good anatomy lesson for them. ;)
And if they’ve been in therapy over it, they’ve not told me, LOL!
