So lovely to love an actor who doesn't make you cringe.

“I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” is one of my favorite Christmas carols, but it only works if it includes the two verses relating to the Civil War, as the video does. Otherwise, it’s just another holiday ditty. And it should be sung to the tune “Waltham” (1872), as it is in the video, and not to that insipid melody written by the guy who wrote “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Best version of this i ever heard was The December People’s version. Only one I enjoy listening to.

Yes. Some used to mock his acting, but he is a stage actor, and there exaggeration is a frequent necessity.

He was exceptional in The Brothers Karamazov.
