I'm a member of the Orange County (Calif.) Civil War Round Table, which meets each month in Costa Mesa for dinner and a presentation on some aspect of the war.

VERY EXCITING! Sounds absolutely wonderful. I used to carry Chamberlain’s books around with me to read in random moments. They still give me goosebumps. Visited his grave. Simply awed by the man.

Great grandfather was one of the special judge advocates at the Lincoln assassination trial. He was brought to DC to run the investigation for Stanton and wrote up the records later for the Library of Congress.
