More proof of how silly it is to jump from a perfectly fine aircraft.

On a side note, if anyone has not yet tried venues such as iFly, I highly recommend it. All the fun of falling to ones death, but in a controlled environment and under supervision.

Parachutes do NOT save the lives of people who jump from aeroplanes……

everybody dies...

Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane?

The results conflict with my own study. I asked 100 people who jumped from airplanes whether their chute deployed or not. 100% of them said it did. Science.

“Jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft is an unnatural act”.

Definitely belongs in the “Journal of Irreproducible Results” EXCEPT that you can repeat this ‘study’ every time for the same results! Still it does match the other criteria of being a backhand to much of the ‘STUDIES’ Academia Idiocy!

‘short duration and altitude of falls’. The study is right. I wore a parachute and jumped from my dining room table. It didn’t even deploy in time to save my life, so what good are they. Next time you’re in a plane that has become a flying flaming bowling ball, just stay with it and don’t bother with the ‘chute.

Groundbreaking. I get it.

I first jumped after eight hours of intensive ground training: 8A to 5P, with a lunch break.

During those eight hours:

A male jumper got tangled in the empennage after deployment, leaving him dangling behind the jump plane.

A female jumper got tangled in her chute lines after panicking, so her chute dud not open.

A male instructor lost half his strapping upon deployment, sending him spinning out of control.

The head instructor never lost his cool. He safely talked them down to the ground via radio.

Watching and hearing him pleasantly but assertively talking the terrified woman out of her panic as we students witnessed her hurtling to her apparently imminent death was amazing.

I jumped at sunset, not a bit apprehensive. I was well prepared. The sunset was also amazing.

P.S. All of the above is to emphasize why they make you wear a backup chute.

It’s worth noting that this theory has practical application to economics, and why Progressive thought is so dangerous.

Social engineering is as dangerous as jumping out of an airplane, because you’re moving into an unknown and doing so with a high probability of failure (±50%).

Also with the caveat that ‘jumping’ into Marxism or socialism is more dangerous and with a higher cost of failure: Prog social engineering doesn’t just kill the fool who made the bad choice.

It kills more people over more time more painfully...
