When did the ants have their industrial revolution?
Last time I checked, they rely entirely on labor, not even a single little steam engine has ever been spotted.
The ants and their waste piles are now part of the ecology. Fertilizer.
I would venture that if the ants were suddenly removed, that would be bad.

Vaxxers suggest that DDT was the cause of the polio epidemic, and eliminating it - rather than instituting the use of the polio vaccine - was the cause of the end of the polio epidemic. They adduce worldwide data to support their case. I gotta say, their argument almost makes sense.
