1990 in Jamaica i basically bailed on my 10 friends and hung out with this Jamaican guy name Tony for a few three four nights.
The only white kid partying in the jungle with a bunch of Jamaicans, mostly in some took over ranch-style house in the middle of the JUNGLE with plastic covering on the furniture and WORKING electricity..one night i was watching a Celtics game on the sat TV. also hung out with some interesting people that lived in a bunch of rusty tin shacks.
CRAZY stuff....looking back i still think fondly of those nights...it was like being on a different planet but also thinking that i’m lucky to be alive lol.
Jamaica is an incredibly beautiful, ultra technicolor country, it is too bad about the poverty those people live in.
The Royal Naval Dockyards is at the west end of the island up near where I live. I live in Somerset Village area. Some good pubs up that way. The Frog and Onion pub (started by a French guy and a Bermudian. Bermudians being known as “onions” due to growing Bermuda Onions here), Pirates landing, and (my personal local hangout) The Somerset Country Squire.

Those thingys are garters. My Uncle Bill used to wear them.
After a game of squash a member of the Harvard Club was dressing. He had one knee high garter and one green garter. The men's dressing room attendant said to him, " I bet you have another pair at home that is also green and red."
Of course, the garters were markers for returning into harbor. Red right returning.
