I’m sorry about that, BGill, but you really shocked me. The last thing I would have expected to fill in the blank in the following statement was “eyes”:

Closer to home, about 20 years ago, my sister found a live rat in her toilet. This was in Scottsdale, AZ adjacent to the Phoenix city line. She had (and has) a good reason to keep the toilet lid closed! She moved and now lives in Prescott.

She meant.
Mother had run out of the bathroom yelling there was a snake in the toilet and refused to go back in. Grandpa poured gasoline down it saying that’d take care of anything down there (his solution to everything). There was a bunch of white gunk bubbling up so I sat down on the floor and had my head in the bowl. BAM! Out shot the snake which was going crazy everywhere sending everyone running. Mother to the dining room. Grandpa to the kitchen. Me to the living room. Grandpa later admitted to hearing things in the bathroom and putting a rock on the toilet lid to sleep at night.
