Our Republic remains alive
As for whose fault it is, the final nail was driven by Dubya Bush’s pushing Gonzales v Raich through the USSC. It had the effect of blowing down any remaining barriers to federal control over things as minor, as Justice Thomas wrote in dissent, as church suppers.
The Republic is dead. Long live the nation-state.
That’s how Obamacare was passed essentially.
Succinctly and correctly put.
The Republic’s building is gutted, and just waiting for a final catastrophe to make it collapse.
The indifference to bakers being persecuted, and citizens being deplatformed is evidence that we are headed down Rome’s road to ruin.
Some ostensible conservatives on this forum view such happenings as merely the free market at work.
When that not-so-free (fascistic) market comes for them, no one will be there to help them.
