Two parents are facing multiple charges related to the investigation surrounding the death of their three-year-old -daughter. Laredo Police arrested the mother, 37-year-old Monica Dominguez and father, 32-year-old Gerardo Zavala Loredo for allegedly covering up the death of their daughter, Rebecca Zavala. The incident happened on Thursday afternoon at around 1:30 p.m. when police received an anonymous tip saying that something suspicious was going on in one of the apartments at the 1800 block of Jefferson Street. When authorities arrived at the scene, they began securing the area and requested assistance from the Laredo Fire Department HAZMAT Unit. When authorities searched the home, they found a bucket with human remains hidden inside one of the bedroom closets. According to officers, the mother stated that the child allegedly drowned while she was under no adult supervision. Both Monica Dominguez and Gerardo Zavala allegedly attempted to dispose of the body by putting it inside a container full of acid.
