No. Not without Christianity. Rome did some, but it wasn’t until Christianity that the savages really stopped being savage and actually started doing things productive and moved beyond tribalism.

That’s an interesting view that fits with much current evidence. Today, all the knowledge and physical plant to build civilization is available to all, but it doesn’t happen for all. There have to be intervening factors that prevent people in many countries from taking the complete works of Thomas Sowell and the world’s scientific knowledge and become decent spots for people.
