Pancreas? Stage 4? Yikes!

Some years ago we had a world famous surgeon on the staff of the hospital where I worked who had a seizure in the OR. He had a history of melanoma and, being pretty sure what was happening,he ordered a CAT Scan on himself, quit his job when he looked at the results and retired to the Caribbean.

He was dead 3 months later.

Alex is very probably approaching the last roundup.

Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It seems his chances are very very slim. Prayers for Alex Trebek and his family.

Its that or less.

Now hes gonna get real good care and treatment, and he has a good outlook, so he will probably last longer than most.

That’s what killed Patrick Swayze and I believe Michael Landon.

Someone very close to me died of pancreatic cancer. They basically just sent her home to die, which was only a month or so.

Pancreatic cancer is probably the worst cancer you can get, no warning signs til its too late..RBG found it at stage 1, honestly still dont know how they found it so early, probably by accident. Prayers sent for Alex Trebek, a good man and a damn good game show host!

Outlook

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death. The median survival rate for stage 4 pancreatic cancer is between two and six months. Though the disease cannot be cured at this stage, treatment may improve your quality of life.

Older people are as likely to respond well to treatment as younger ones, though life expectancy among older people with stage 4 pancreatic cancer is shorter. This is especially true if a person’s health is further complicated by other conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.

Getting treatment for a late-stage cancer can be confusing and stressful. If you start to feel overwhelmed, ask your medical team, family, friends, and counselors for help and support.

Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer in 2009 - he was only 57 years old.

Very scary disease.

You’re not kidding. My brother had retired from the USAF after 30 years and when he died he was eligible to start receiving his pension but didn’t make it.

They found her cancer totally by accident while she was being operated on for something else.

I remember Patrick Swayze making it nearly 2 years before finally succumbing. They said at the time he defied the odds.

>>>That’s what happens from clicking on blogs<<<

I don’t click on Blogs and I ended up with Chronic Leukemia.

Is there a Study linking clicking on Blogs and ending up with Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer? Don’t recall seeing one.

Prayers for Alex. He seems like a fine Man.

He’s screwed. My wife brought her dying aunt into our home with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She lasted two miserable months.
