I admit, I’m one of those idiots who is fascinated by the mob. I can’t quite figure it out, something about their code, (even though they broke it constantly).
Intellectually I know the mob is a bunch of scum who should rot in Hell.
But on some level, there is that fascination. One of my all time favorite movies is The Godfather. I know it’s not like that in real life.

Same here. Hubby and I are watching Sopranos (never had HBO but now its on Amazon Prime). Every night at least 2-3 episodes. Thoroughly enjoyed Boardwalk Empire. (My daily language always takes a turn donwhill during these binges 😬). I have a niece who has never seen Godfather so THAT is what were doing tonight 😀. (And even SHE knows were not doing GF3)

"I admit, Im one of those idiots who is fascinated by the mob. I cant quite figure it out, something about their code, (even though they broke it constantly)." Some 43 years ago I did the groundwork for a new business in a Northeast Ohio community along the Ohio River. The landlord was openly part of the "family" who ran the local numbers and prostitution rackets. Yet he also ran the local community chest that supported local youth activities, parks, churches, the local hospital and other charities. Of course part of the quid pro quo for the business lease was the expectations of donations to the community chest. Extortion it was, but of some benefit to the community.

I rather enjoyed Goodfellas. That’s what it’s like in real life. No honor among thieves. Even if it’s the people closest to you.

(My dad had a Delta 88. That was a car. It was like driving your living room.)
