THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) — A country music singer has died in Texas after his manager says a revolver he was handling during a music video shoot accidentally discharged.
Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack says 35-year-old Justin Carter died last weekend at his apartment in The Woodlands, north of Houston. Carter’s manager, Mark Atherton, tells KTRK-TV the singer was using the gun as a prop for a music video he was filming when it went off.

Well that was one clumbsy gun. Accidently doing that and all.
That gun should have been more careful.
Who's to say though, without an investigation and even then...
1) All guns are always loaded
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it
Extreme stupidity or suicide. I vote for suicide.
Gosh I wonder if any media outfits in SF, NYC and DC will snap this story up, eh..?
So, he had the revolver loaded, while using it as a prop in a music video, and somehow put the finger to the trigger and pointed the muzzle towards his self, and then it accidentally went off?
I hope that gun doesnt hook up with an SUV, there could be mahem on the streets...
There was a thread here yesterday about this.
And among the rules of gun safety mentioned there, was to always handle with care, and assume a gun is loaded. Do not point a gun at anyone or anything you don’t intend to shoot.
It also mentioned that a gun shooting blanks still has explosive substances in it, and gets back to where you should assume a gun is loaded, and never point it at anyone.
Note that the Texas JP and the singer’s manager are not giving the same account of the matter. Not the same at all...
I guess this is the equivalent of wrap singers shooting each other up to further their careers.

How do you not know if a gun is loaded? Maybe he was anti-gun?
Yes, that story or something very close to it seems to be what his (former) manager is going with.
The article is unclear about whether anyone else agrees with him...

Or perhaps someone did not like him and loaded the empty revolver?

I have a theory... so flame away, gun folks.
Overweight people have trouble pulling guns out of clothing because everything is tight and so the gun must be gripped harder, increasing the chance of an accidental trigger pull.
Of course, I don’t know the details of this incident but it is just a thought.....
