For the cruises in November and January last year, I took AMTRAK from Cleveland to Baltimore. I don’t fly. And now I’ve taken cruising off the list. Vacationing isn’t what it used to be for folks who live on a budget. sigh.
I thought you were here in Mass. - Tom
On that November cruise, one elderly passenger in a wheel chair and with a respirator had to be evacuated because of a heart attack, to Norfolk the night before we returned to Baltimore. The seas were a bit choppy, but nowhere near some of the weather we’d encountered. Getting just that one passenger off the ship without docking took hours! Coast Guard, Homeland Security, State Police, no luck. Finally the local EMTs figured it out (cruise ships are amazing for “no secrets”). My point? It served as a wake up call of just how nightmarish it would be if a ship had to be evacuated. We were all surprised that it was too dangerous to use a lifeboat to get him to safety.
No. I moved to OH almost 14 years ago. It wasn’t going to be permanent.....
You bet! Most have to be in the military to have that kind of fun.
Wow! Thank you so much for crunching those numbers. :)
I am sure you can find an inside cabin on deck 4 for a reasonable price. - Tom
Every time I go to a news site that has an article about the cruise ship, my Firefox Browser collapses. Some crap about cookies and ad nonsense.
It also happens when I go to the link with the ship’s status data. It collapses my browser tab.
It appears they don’t want “discussion” about this.
Your name shows up automatically at the bottom - so it's redundant.
I dont see a problem. Other freepers also sign all their posts, just a personal preference.
Sorry, spelled name wrong.
Looks like an LST tied up at 32nd street in calm weather.
