Works better with a scarf or belt but it does work. But people are so protected now days that they don't think that way. I cheerfully admit to being a throwback to a less civilized time.
Use the seatbelt buckle to break the window. At least try to draw attention to yourself. Or was she so blitzed do didn’t realize she was in trouble until he pulled down that dirt road?
Another possibility is she ordered a pool ride and there was an accomplice in the back seat instead of another passenger. It didn't look like she was falling down drunk and ready to pass out in the video.

I repeat, FR is the best place to get some perspective from someone who’s actually done the job. Whether it’s a plane crash, a dam or bridge collapse, or whatever.
As an aside, I’ll also mention the way taxi drivers also have to take on trust the passengers they pick up, who may or may not bail out or try to rob them.

It may have just been opportunistic. He could have been just sitting there and she drunkenly or mistakenly got in.
But there have been cases of people with a xerox copy u sign deliberately trolling outside of bars and picking up parole to rob or rape.
An Uber should have a QR code to match with the rider. Just last year behind my house an Uber driver was found murdered.
