I’ll disagree with the consensus thus far and side with the owner when it comes to the right to choose the language used on his own restaurant’s menus, but the real issue is that it’s simply a disagreement between one customer and an owner that was caught on tape yet Cox Media Group considers it national news. These local, little stories are made to be much bigger than then they are and used to push an agenda and that’s what actually bothers me.

Get over asking whether one is a citizen or not (legal or not and from which country!)

I’ve done genealogy for decades, for myself, my family and others. It’s been extremely beneficial when I come upon various Census years when those questions were required, even going so far as to require what language was spoken in the home by the adult parents, etc.

It has pleased everyone when they found out where their ancestors’ countries of origin and even if they spoke another language besides English!

We are able to research the ports where their ancestors landed and can further research ships for their records.

Better yet, requiring people to admit whether they are legal or are illegal aliens and thus we will have a clue as to misuse of tax dollars and how many House of Representatives are necessary, as the only legal way to figure how many are needed, we support House members based on citizenship not illegal aliens!
