If you just are who you are that is no accomplishment, so where is the cause for pride? Pride is normally a result of an accomplishment, of something you have achieved, you have earned. But if the idea is G-d “made you” the way you are, what is there to be prideful about?

My guess: The 11 y/o has been indoctrinated to voice support for these social groups, so he’s doing that. The same way schoolkids can become zealots about recycling, even daring to correct their parents behavior if allowed to.
The parents, especially the dad are afraid to say ‘Hell, no!’ or ask more questions. So they overcompensate, showing lots of immediate support with the ‘required’ level of enthusiasm.
