Rogue One was made completely pointless and stupid by the canon-breaking weaponizing of hyperdrive in SW8.
The moment they did that, none of the rest of the Star Wars universe makes sense. If one could make a hyperdrive weapon, nobody would build a ship large enough to be worth targeting with one.
Why even bother to attack the Death Star head on in the original when they could have just sent a hyperspace nuke to obliterate it in one shot?
The entire series is in complete ruin.
Rogue one was NOT canon breaking. It was a side story and explained some of how various things occurred in the espionage side of the force.
It was the best Star Wars story since 4,5, 6. And “spoiler” everyone…
…DIED.

Good points; at this point they’re just throwing sh!t on the wall and seeing if it sticks. I do believe it was to correct that earlier oversight, though; all the problems in the galaxy are caused by old white men with that correction, and most of the otherized creatures - and ALL of the otherized humans - are arrayed against them (and win).
