Pot makes you paranoid. Everybody who grew up in the 60s or 70s knew this.
The occasional toke won’t do it, but people who are heavy users really screw up their brains. They either become perma-stoned (which means their brains have been turned to mush and they spend their lives watching reruns of Scooby Doo, as a friend of my son did) , or they develop psychotic symptoms. I actually saw this happen with a friend of mine in high school. And then, 20 years later, I saw it happen with friends of my son (who went into the Navy to get away from the California drug culture).
I remember fifty years ago my first liberty in Subic, we were warned about “drugs”.
I didn’t get it. I was thinking they were talking about medicine. I didn’t know a thing about illegal drug use.
