Beautiful car - terrible color scheme.
I don’t care what anyone else has to say...THAT is freakin’ BEAUTIFUL!
I like the color scheme. Certainly is unusual.
1955 brought a whole new appearance for cars.
1956, in all of the Big 3, brought an added
piece of chrome here and there, but nothing very new.
1957 moved the needle around a little.
I liked 1958, but my favorite car of
the era was purchased by a friend of
mine, the 1959 cat’s eye Impala coupe,
white over black.
He had his lowered and side pipes
installed with Smitty mufflers.
For a kid in high school, he was sui generis.
You ought to be taken out and whipped.
I am chewing my fingers looking at this. LOL
Not the color I would paint my Nomad if I were to ever win major lottery.
All black would have been okay.
I had a high school friend who had a 60 impala 2 door in all black. Had the back end raised just a bit. When waxed up the car looked like it was doing about 100mph.
My dad had a 1959 Chevy station wagon with a custom dent in the floorboard behind the driver. Almost as tall as the drive shaft tunnel!!! Dent courtesy of a large rock on a country road. Nothing fancy about the car just what every high school kid wanted to drive in 1970, NOT!

Hey? What the hell’s that under that hood? Is that what they used to call and engine?
Some of the youngster mechanics nowadays would fall over dead if they popped the hood on that where they could actually see the engine. AND WORK ON IT.
That a two speed slush bucket shifter I see-transmission?
Cant be a 3 speed granny.
After you watch the YouTube video of this car, watch the next one which is a ten minute video of a really nice ‘56 in Jay Leno’s garage.
The car ultimately sold for $79k.
I think what comes up next, or the sidebar list of suggested related videos, may be different for different people, depending on your viewing history on YouTube.
Believe it or not, thats a factory color scheme.
I had one in the 70s. Candy apple red with fat tires on the back. What an awesome car.
I could see paying that for a ‘56, but not for a Chevy.
One of the coolest cars I ever saw in person, was
painted in white, plus the fad colors of the day,
pink and black. It was a 1956 Packard. [swoon]
I can still see it in my mind’s eye sixty-three years later.
If so, I saw it and considered posting it. But because of the modern low-profile tires and rims, decided against it. Didn't want people whining about the wheels.
This was one car where Chevy got all the proportions exactly right.
It’s often overlooked because of the more popular and/or familiar ‘55 and ‘57.
They didn’t sell too well either. Ford sold a ton more cars.
