People who drink up to 25 cups of coffee a day don't run a greater risk of a heart attack.
That's the remarkable finding from a study of over 8,000 people in the U.K., carried out by the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Previous studies have linked drinking coffee with a hardening of the arteries that pump blood from your heart to other parts of the body. If arteries become stiff, it can increase stress on the heart and raise a person's chance of having a heart attack or stroke.
But the fresh research, presented Monday at the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) Conference, claimed that after looking at the heart scans of 8,412 people, it had "debunked" previous studies linking coffee to poor heart health.

that is 1.5 gallons.
Thats not quite what I said. Assuming you are attemting to ask what I think you intended then yes. The increases in lung cancer travelled around the world to the same countries at the same time that Marlboro replaced that countries most popular brand. Recipe adjustments allowed process changes not used by other manufacturers that concentrated nitrosamines to 21 times the normal levels.
Or attempting, anyway...
I allow myself 3 cups of coffee per day. If I want more than that, I drink decaf. I read somewhere that the half-life of caffeine in the body is about 5 hours (same as the 5 Hour energy drinks). I drink my last cup at around 2:30-3:00. It wears off by the time I am ready to go to sleep.
Just last month, they said 5 cups a day will kill you.
Will we ever learn not to listen to these college educated idiots?
25 cups?
I better cut back.
This just begs the question what was wrong about the prior study, other than the conclusion.
In other words, how do you know it’s not the current study that’s wrong? Have to explain how the earlier researchers screwed up.
Moot point as your kidneys are raising the white flag at 15.
Heres an idea: think for yourself.
That would make a good thing to study.A study to find out how many studies are contradicted later?
I have a bit of high blood pressure. Too much coffee seems to aggravate it some. I limit it to 1-2 cups in the AM. Drinking more water seems to help too. Problem is I do a lot of business travel so sometimes I limit my water intake to pee less. Such Catch 22 kiniptions.
Tumeric for the pain. Lots and lots of tumeric. But it does work.
At least thats been the rationale Ive used for my addiction!
I like your rational.
But since I was in college in the 60s, one study after another over the years have come out about drinking coffee and whether it's good or bad for you.
Coffee is bad. Coffee is good. Coffee is bad. Coffee is good. Coffee is bad. Coffee is good. Coffee is bad. Coffee is good. Coffee is bad. Coffee is good. And now LOTS and LOTS of coffee is good for you and your heart?
Who would drink 25 cups of coffee a day? I don't even drink that much water a day.
I had an NCOIC who worked for me in the Air Force years ago who drank 10 cups of straight black coffee a day and he was wired all of the time. Nervous all of the time. Had to go pee all of the time. Couldn't sleep. The caffeine was addicting. It was like a drug habit to him. But it was legal.
I usually have 3-5 cups worth of caffeine beverages (coffee and/or comparable to coffee) a day....one of the lucky ones who can have a double espresso at 8 PM and still sleep.
25 cups , you would be your own Earth Quake or you would vibrate out of bed at night ,LOL
“How many drink more than 3 cups a day.”
Real men count POTS of coffee, not CUPS. I’ll sleep when I’m dead.
I usually have 3-6 cups a day. Otherwise, I fall asleep.
My kidneys work fine, and I keep caffeine tablets on hand in case I’m ever forced to drink mere water instead of coffee.
