What does all that caffeine do to your kidneys? I’m swearing off caffeine because I’ve been getting an annual kidney infection and the backache that goes with it is a killer.

Watch out for ibuprofen and naproxen on the kidneys. I’ve been using it for years (taking 6-10 a day), and found it was really hurting my kidneys. My eGFR was in the 30s. I stopped taking it, and now I’m up in the 80s. Still too low, but so much better.

Tylenol doesn’t damage the kidneys, but does the liver.

Embrace the pain!

I have a bit of high blood pressure. Too much coffee seems to aggravate it some. I limit it to 1-2 cups in the AM. Drinking more water seems to help too. Problem is I do a lot of business travel so sometimes I limit my water intake to pee less. Such Catch 22 kiniptions.

My kidneys work fine, and I keep caffeine tablets on hand in case I’m ever forced to drink mere water instead of coffee.
