Yuck! It’s too bad they were in the wilderness. How on earth did they get home? No one would want to get into that car for any reason, with the stink of bear poop and spit. Ugh, I cannot imagine how nauseating.

I’d be thankful they did that to my car rather than to me in the backcountry.

On a day trip to the Oregon Coast with a friend and her Newfoundland Sheepdog, about a 200 pound dog, we got to the beach and the dog got out of the little Toyota car and immediately made a beeline for the carcass of a week long dead Elephant Seal. The dog rolled around in the carcass and throughly covered himself in gaseous, decomposing blubber - and of course the good stuff, rotten heart, liver, lungs and bowels.

It was Memorial Day weekend so we were stuck in traffic for the 3.5 hour drive back to Portland.

You haven’t lived until you’ve been stuck in traffic with a slobbering, happy as a pig in $4/t Newfoundland Sheepdog in the tiny backseat of a Toyota who smells like Abe Lincoln in 1866

I was nauseous for a week
